The ChatGPT application is accessible via a web browser on the OpenAI website. You’ll have to create an account with OpenAI.com first then log in to access the ChatGPT application.

It’s not available as a download yet. However, you will see ChatGPT apps being offered as a download. Please be aware that there is no official ChatGPT app for download, and the apps you’ll see for download are fakes. Some apps you can download, have incorporated the GPT-3 language model. Let’s try to understand the differences. ChatGPT is an app that uses the GPT-3 language model, and some of the downloadable apps also use GPT-3 language models, but they are programmed differently.

So, please bear in mind the “Chat GPT” apps you download are not as good as the original ChatGPT application at openAI.com.

Quite a few ChatGPT apps have been removed from the IOS app store recently after some Journalists reported fake apps being available for download.

There is no official ChatGPT app on the IOS app store. However, there is still a number that uses the GPT-3 language models and relies on the public not knowing the difference between ChatGPT and GPT-3. ChatGPT on the Play Store

When I last checked 15 apps on the Google Play store, say ChatGPT or Chat GPT-3 or any combination of those search terms. Many of these apps could be classed as fakes because they try to pass themselves off as the original ChatGPT.

The unofficial apps you download from the IOS store and the Playstore are different cases, so I suggest you be cautious if deciding to download them.

There are many alternatives to ChatGPT. Nearly all the alternatives use GTP models to write for you, but few have been developed as chat apps. The closest match I can think of is Chatsonic.
